Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo

November 13, 2019 By Kim Kingston

Do not be put off by the fact this Booker Prize winning novel is one long sentence (which sounds a bit wanky); it’s engaging, funny and so full of life. Evaristo takes us into the lives and minds of twelve mostly black mostly women in Britain, past and present. Each perspective presented is sublimely human. All together they create a vast web of rich experience. It reminds you the connections between us all, and all that is good in us; whether women, men, or other. 4 stars.
