I Thought I Knew You by Penny Hancock

January 1, 2020 By Kim Kingston

A ripper read. Jules and Holly, now in their mid forties, have been friends for more than twenty years. Everything turns to shite when Jules’ 13 year old daughter suddenly accuses Holly’s 17 year old son of raping her. Both the kids are so plausible when recounting what happened that night, you genuinely don’t know who to believe. Add in the violent instability of Jules’ husband (a truly disturbing character) and the sudden disappearance of one of the kids and you have every reason to read on, avidly. 4 stars.
