While not as good as Macmillan’s What She Knew, this one is still a good read. Macmillan is awesome at intertwining personalities and perspectives and her characters always feel real. The Perfect Girl tells the story of Maisey, a 17 year old pianist still recovering from the guilt of having killed three young people in a car crash when she was fourteen. Maisey and her mother have a new family and new name, but her past still follows them. And when Maisey’s mother is killed violently, it’s hard to know whether the killer is more likely to be inside or outside the home. Quite intriguing.
