Under the Harrow by Flynn Berry

March 21, 2018 By Kim Kingston

This one really gets under your skin. The protagonist, Nora, goes to visit her sister but finds her murdered. From there on Nora’s actions and thoughts become somewhat disordered, the past matted with the present and her determination to find her sister’s killer driving her to suspect almost every male she comes across. Accompanying Nora on her own personal voyage into darkness is an uncomfortable experience but, like her, you really want to know who killed her sister. The relationship between the two sisters feels real, raw and complicated. Hats off to the author for creating three dimensional female characters and avoiding sloppy stereotype. An absorbing, intelligent thriller with a satisfying ending.
